Weekly Soft Matter Discussion Group

Come join us! Ongoing presentation/discussion series - Soft matter, computational physics and statistical mechanics.  FlinT has started a bi-weekly gathering: Wednesdays 11 – 12:00 at the FLinT Commons. Each gathering features a presentation of finished research, discussion of ongoing research, ideas for future research and collaborations, presentations of interesting papers, students presenting their work or other topics of mutual interest and benefit.

Bi-weekly Gathering: Soft matter, computational physics and statistical mechanics

There are quite a number of activities within this rough heading at FKF, so we have started a bi-weekly gathering on Wednesdays 11 – 12:00 at the FLinT Commons (Ø6-410). Each gathering features a presentation of finished research, discussion of ongoing research, ideas for future research and collaborations, presentations of interesting papers, students presenting their work or other topics of mutual interest and benefit. Hopefully there will be a core of VIPs and students attending regularly. We will post the upcoming topics in KIK each week. Contact Carsten Svaneborg (science@zqex.dk) or Lucinda Voldsgaard (lnv@sdu.dk) for more information or to sign up for the emails.

Previous presentations:

  • J. Christian Schön, visiting from the Max-Planck-Institute for Solid State Research, " Nanomaterials: What do their energy landscapes tell us?”
  • Nicky Cordua Mattson, " Coarse-Graining via the Mori-Zwanzig Formalism.”
  • Federica LoVerso, " Designing a new class of functional materials through soft polymeric nanoparticles.”
  • Paolo Sibani, "Record dynamics in the parking lot model"
  • Jens Krog, "Bayesian inference and model selection in stochastic biophysics.”
