Research Interests

I am a biochemist who is currently a postdoctoral research fellow at FLinT Center. My research path is primarily driven by the question of origins-of-life. I would like to know how and why it happened that inanimate matter organized itself into a living entity. This question steers my research interest towards such topics as self-organization, supramolecular chemistry, lipid membranes, small-molecule catalysis and emergence in chemical systems. At FLinT my current research focuses on the development of fatty acid protocells. In particular their functionalization with lipid-anchored DNA information molecules.

I have also interests outside of chemistry. Some of them developed into semi-professional occupations. My website devoted to Easter Island research can be found here.
